Awwww… Nunu was a special dog because you shared her life with us. She was part of a lot of families. You realize how many people care when you see all those toys. I’m so glad that she will not be forgotten. It must bring a smile to your face just to think of her. 🙂
That is so sad. I went there one day and couldn’t find her. On a lighter note I think it was wonderful you came out for Daniel Dae Kim’s premiere last night..Maybe you could be a guest star!!
That is so sweet and beautiful. I wish there was a place like that for my kittys that have gone to heaven. If I ever make it back to Hawaii I will be sure to bring her a toy.
This picure reallys says it all, doesn’t it? It breaks my heart and is so sweet at the same time? I guess its true when they say that how we treat our beloved pets is the greatest example of our humanity.
Next time we’re out there, maybe after a matinee, we’ll stop by for a visit. I’m glad she’s there as I believe the Windward side is the most beautiful side of the island, imho.
Awwwww…I love the little–what is that, a hedgehog?–in its cute hideaway.
You’ll see her again one day, honey. Whatever Heaven or Nirvana is, I have the sneaking suspicion that upon arrival, we get tackled by every single pet we’ve ever had.
So sweet. I’m sure she feels your love for her, Jorge.
I’ve always felt that the thing that makes our own passing less scary is knowing who will be there to meet us on the other side. How lovely all those reunions with our loved ones – human and animal – will be. Take care, Sweetie.
The above replies have all been so beautiful. I’m so sorry for the loss of your little NuNu – she was so adorable – and she knew then and knows now how much she was loved by everyone!
Just like you and Beth.
I know there is a special little dog who is looking for you and is patiently waiting for you to come and find her (or him), so she can love you as much as she can.
you should take that love down to the humane society and adopt a dog that needs the love more than NUNU does. Rescuing a dog that needs love is an extension of the love you have for NUNU…
Well, now…it takes time, you know. It’s hard to go and get a pet right away after losing one. I know I needed time to mourn, and I didn’t really feel right about getting another dog for about two years. When I did adopt Billy, it was more like he found me than the other way around.
Like we’ve all been saying-our furbabies aren’t just pets; they’re family to us. You have to be tender with yourself and your memories of them before you can really be ready to offer that love to another furball. 🙂
“The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too.” ~Samuel Butler, Notebooks, 1912
This quote always makes me smile when I think about my previous dogs. Hope it does the same for you guys!
If you’re a dog lover, you have to read “a big little life” by Dean Koontz. It’s non-fiction and it’s fantastic. Mr. Koontz nails down the human-dog bond down perfectly. I have no financial relationship with Mr. Koontz or the publisher. The book was given to me as a gift by my mom after my dog died.
she was an adorable dog. little angel. of course you can’t replace her, but i really hope there is another dog in your future. you guys seem to have a lot of love to give, and so many dogs need it.
I was so sorry to have heard of Nunu’s passing. I just moved to Oahu last month so I plan on bringing her a toy while I am here and I will visit her. She looked like she was a great dog, I am so sorry for your loss.
I’m new to this blog, but I just wanted to say that often I people say things like “It’s just a dog, just a cat, just an animal… they don’t have feelings. ” when it comes to pets. People try to minimize the connections, the friendships, the love we build and get with these “animals” we call family.
Anyone that has a heart and let’s it really, truly open will find that the “It’s just a …” comments just aren’t true. They are our family members and our friends. I’ve never personally known Nunu but I’m glad she had an owner like you that loved her, and continues to love her like she should be.
She knew she was loved. Jorge do you have plans do get another dog? Take care.

Touching. I miss my little dog Puca, died on 09/08/2009, I lived 12 years with her tenderness.
I am not surprised that you went back. I just love you guys and always have.

Don’t remember who said it, but someone once said to their dog “if there is no heaven for thee, there is no heaven for me.”
Our four-legged friends jut have a way of getting into our hearts, don’t they? I tried to resist but I really love our dog, Roscoe.

It’s really sweet of people to leave the toys and goodies. Your fans have BIG HEARTS, Jorge, just like you & Beth.
Aww, that’s so sweet.
Awww ❤ How very sweet. I'm still so sorry for what happened 😦
you are a great doggy-dad…I hope you can find another little one to love as much as nunu loved you… Some little one is just waiting to find you.
That picture made me smile. If I ever get to the Islands, I plan to leave her some toys as well. I hope you and Beth are doing well.

It’s a beautiful site, Jorge.

I love that thought…all my beloved fur-babies jumping, barking and going crazy 🙂
Me too. It’s a lovely thing to think of, isn’t it? 🙂
So sweet. I’m sure she feels your love for her, Jorge.

Pets are a blessing. They are with us for such a short time. But their love lives on. They are always a part of us.
Aww…you guys should look for a house there…you love Hawaii, you love Nunu…then your housing problems would be over and you’d be close to your girl 🙂
Aweee… How cool

😦 so sad for your loss…
I lost my beautiful sweet Emma two years ago today. I’m so sorry for you, there will always be a Nunu-shaped hole in your heart.
Thanks for the smile . . . she is loved by so many of us.
I wonder what people would think if you left her big thingthatlookskindoflikeavagina there?
My dog has those little squirrels with the tree and he just loves them……Nunu must have had a lot of fun!
This makes me happy. I love it. If I ever make it out to Hawaii, I want to bring her a toy too. She was an angel. ❤

Gah These posts keep making me upset about my dog. We couldn’t even afford to have her buried or anything.
And thank you Pandora for playing “Angel” by Sarah Maclachlin while I try to type this. That really makes it easier to not cry.
Jorge or Beth – are you allowed to put a photo of her there? I think that would look nice, too.
Janet
That picture is so sad and touching all at once…
So cute. So spoiled doggy she is. Nunu is still your dearest company, I believe.

that was something 😦 sniff* sniff*
So sad, so touching. I also lost 2 of my doggies.
What a beautiful soul! Thank you for sharing her with all of us!!!!!
