26 Apr

This is the second day in a row that Beth has discovered a crow eating potato salad in our yard. Don’t know where he gets it. Don’t know why he’s washing it in our pool.

(She didn’t get a picture of it so I had to improvise.)

What the hell? Is this better or worse than Iron Man in your back yard?

  2. Nick April 26, 2011 at 9:37 pm #

Thats funny Jorge. He’s just scouting the place so he can place a bunch of garden gnomes. lol.

bahahahaa! who knew he liked potato salad? nice of him to bring his own bowl, tho…

LOL, he’s washing the potato salad in your pool? Could be a fussy eater. Perhaps he doesn’t like the mayo on it and is trying to get off:) Crows are actually very intelligent. I’ll bet he has a very good reason. Just wish we could figure it out:)

“De un golpe abrí la puerta,
y con suave batir de alas, entró
    un majestuoso cuervo
    de los santos días idos.”

Fragmento de “El Cuervo” de Edgar Allan Poe, supongo que ya lo conoces, pero si no es así te recomiendo su lectura, te ocupará unos minutos.

    Espero que no sea premonitorio.

I used to find oranges in my yard all the time and I don’t live in Florida. I always figured some critter was carrying them in and dropping them off.

LOL…he probably was picking at someone’s trash bags and is trying to get nasties off. At least he is smart enough to clean it 🙂

      Nice Photoshop skills!

  16. Denise April 27, 2011 at 9:31 am #

Maybe the crow is just trying to cut back on his mayo intake.

  17. Laine April 27, 2011 at 9:33 am #

Maybe when a crow loses a bet, instead of ‘eating crow’ they have to eat potato salad. And this crow is like “Fine, but I’m washing this stuff, first.”

This literally made me bark out a laugh. In my cubicle. At work.

  19. Car Title Loans April 27, 2011 at 12:09 pm #

Your rendition, I’m sure, is a lot better then the actual crow. Maybe he went down to the local store or park? After all, picnic season is finally here!

    …too much free time….
By the way, I mailed an autograph request a short time ago and was wondering what the turnaround time is for that sort of thing.

they say crows like shiny objects. maybe it’s admiring the pool reflections while it eats

I saw two huge black crows soaking bread slices in a bowl of water that I put in my yard for birds and Imhad not put out any bread that day. The crows just dropped by to make use of the water. 🙂

Ha! That was a great post. Between the picture you made and the visual of a crow washing his potato salad in your pool, I am cracking up!

It’s not from our house — We feed crows curly fries and pizza…they really do LOVE potatoes!!! Besides, we live about 12 miles from you — as the crow flies !!!

Y hablando de otra cosa, si Imdb y Wikipedia están en lo cierto, el 28 de abril es tu cumpleaños, y como aquí ya es día 28 tengo que desearte…

    ¡¡¡ Feliz cumpleaños !!!

    De paso te hago una pregunta que lo más probable es que quede sin respuesta, pero por intentarlo que no quede;

¿ Celebras tu cumpleaños con el horario del lugar donde te encuentras ?

Supongo que al viajar tanto muchas veces te habrá pillado en diferentes franjas horarias.

We had a couple of crows last summer that would drop bones into our bird bath and then perch there and eat them. They looked like barbecue rib bones, and it happened all summer long – I have no idea if people were throwing bones into their backyards, or the crows were rifling through their trash for them. Regardless, I have no idea why they chose OUR yard and bird bath for their feast!

Isn’t that one of the signs of the apocalypse?
    Or was that coleslaw??? Hmmmm
