Man, No “Dead” Till February. How Will I Live(-ing Dead)?

29 Nov

I was a little late to this series. I knew I wanted to watch it and subscribed on iTunes when it came out, but I didn’t get around to watching Season one until the second season had already started. Needless to say I became a fan and got pretty used to having a lot of episodes in the bank to watch. Now I have to wait. TWD-FWP.

Wow, that sounds familiar… oh yeah, I remember saying it after every LOST finale!

  2. Janice November 29, 2011 at 1:08 pm #

We were late to it too. We started it this weekend, and have now exhausted our tivoed supply until Feb. I can’t say that I didn’t have zombie dreams all weekend, but it is going to be a long, long winter with out em!

I’m with ya… love, love, LOVE TWD!
I was hoping it would be back in January but nooooo…. February! DANG!
This is my #1 show since LOST wrapped. I still haven’t been able to watch it at night and sometimes I have to take a break mid-show I get so nervous and scared what might happen next. It is suspense on STEROIDS! FUN!
I was hooked from the pilot and therefor was DYING (heehee pun intended) for S2 and I somehow survived that year so I hope I’ll survive this mini break.
    …when does Alcatraz start??? 🙂
Beth cannot be watching this… she scares so easy, I’d think this would send her to the hospital!

oh i hear ya!! i did the same thing with LOST.. didnt watch it until the last season was nearly over. plugged myself into netflix and watched the entire series.. took me about a week.. then i had to wait for the last season.. so agonizing. guess im gonna have to do the same thing with LD. good thing i dont have a life.

  5. kake79 November 29, 2011 at 1:24 pm #

Since you didn’t watch the first season when it aired, you didn’t have to live through the year long wait we had until season 2 began. Now THAT was rough!

llisa… Alcatraz premieres in January. I haven’t seen the FOX commercials give a specific date but Wikipedia puts it on Jan 16th, FWIW.

    • llisa November 29, 2011 at 1:31 pm #

Thanks kake79 for the start date… I was hoping it would be early enough to be a band-aide… make that “tourniquet”… to hold me over 🙂

  6. Kimberly November 29, 2011 at 1:37 pm #

That’s how I watched Lost. I missed the first 5 seasons, and I watched them like it was a part time job to catch up before the 6th season…and then I had to *gasp* wait like everyone else! It was torture!

  7. Lurkertype November 29, 2011 at 1:52 pm #

They’re starting to show ads for Alcatraz and it is totally killing me with suspense!

  8. Debbie M. November 29, 2011 at 2:03 pm #

What an ending to the mid-season finale! My husband and I have been watching TWD from the beginning and love it. I wish it was coming back in Jan. too, but I think “Lost” takes the cake in making fans wait:)

  9. Jessica November 29, 2011 at 2:10 pm #

    I feel your pain!

    • carlae November 29, 2011 at 2:35 pm #

That’s exactly how I watched LOST and now Breaking Bad. I LOVE watching TV when I want.

  10. ratmando November 29, 2011 at 2:51 pm #

At least we got a Jorge blast — waiting for Alcatraz– with a HIMYM last night… alas, poor Jorge, we know this well…. YOU are what makes watching TV great for many of us!

  11. LeeAnne Snider-Green November 29, 2011 at 2:56 pm #

Feeling a little out of the loop here… had to Google “TWD dead” to find out what this was all about. It looks like I need to get going on this! Thanks for posting it!

  12. marie November 29, 2011 at 3:04 pm #

I don’ t know this movie ; this series doesn’ t exist in France. In any case this girl Frightens !

  13. Nate November 29, 2011 at 3:19 pm #

Oh dude, Jorge, thanks a lot for the spoiler image! I haven’t had a chance to watch Sunday’s episode yet, I was going to watch it tonight. But knowing what this last episode was leading up to, what am I supposed to take from a picture of a young girl zombie peeking out of a BARN door?! Love you man, but come on!

    • Jorge Garcia November 29, 2011 at 5:55 pm #

Yeah I thought someone might read that as a spoiler. But you won’t know until you watch will ya?

      • Nate November 29, 2011 at 7:09 pm #

Totally true. I convinced myself that maybe that shot was just a promo image to throw is off. Just watched the episode. Ending was still pretty great.

Now you know how we felt waiting for Lost.

  15. Alana November 29, 2011 at 4:32 pm #

i was so majorily bummed last night when they said it was the last show till februrary…WHAT!!!!!

    love love love this show!

i gasped when she came out the barn…damn what an ending.

    • Luca December 3, 2011 at 3:54 pm #

      could be worse.

they could make you wait a whole year.

      THE HORROR

that said, anyone check out “the talking dead” after show. I saw it on the AMC site the other day but haven’t actually watched any of them.

  16. Christina Jones November 29, 2011 at 5:07 pm #

I know! I’m so anxious to see the next episode. I don’t want to wait until February. Oh well. I guess it will give me time to focus on all of the other shows I am currently watching – Hawaii Five-O, Person Of Interest, Revenge, Ringer… -sigh- Back to The Walking Dead though, I feel bad for the woman’s daughter, Sophia, and the woman of course, too!

  17. messenger88 November 29, 2011 at 5:27 pm #

The comics are great too, but the comics and show have already diverged greatly. The Dixon brothers don’t exist in the comics and Shane took a dirt nap very early–don’t think they’ll be killing him off (soon, or ever) on the show.
The thing that’s killing me is the twist I know is coming and no one else I know reads the comic, so I’ve been biting my tongue for the entire television series to keep from telling my fellow viewers what I know.
Let’s just say I am very confident I know what the CDC doctor (who will always be Dana Scully’s brother to me!) whispered into Rick’s ear. It’s an awesome twist but I am totally in suspense as to how they are going to reveal it on the show…arrgh! February!

the minute she stepped thru the doors I started yelling’ I knew it I knew it I knew it.’ I’m a fecking genius.

  19. lostsailors November 29, 2011 at 7:05 pm #

I am late coming to this series too! I don’t know why, sometimes they just slip away from you. I still have to finish season one and get to season 2 which I am DVRing just for the occasion!

  20. mamanature November 30, 2011 at 8:39 am #

Now u know how us poor suckers felt during many a Lost beaks. 😮

  21. Marta November 30, 2011 at 1:11 pm #

I don´t like this one…I am hooked (I looked up this in Google translate, because I don´t know how to say in English you like something a lot and you can´t jump one episode :P) to American Horror Story

  22. checkiev31 December 1, 2011 at 10:24 pm #

At first, I was kinda bummed about having to wait until Feb., but then I realized this will give me time to catch up on all the shows I’m behind on. I’m two episodes behind on American Horror Story, about two months behind on Terra Nova, and three seasons behind on Sons Of Anarchy (I just saw a few online and went out and bought the dvds).

  23. Chris G December 2, 2011 at 1:31 pm #

The Walking Dead is one of, if not the best shows on TV right now! I love it. I bought Season 1 on DVD and watched it all right before Season 2 premiered. Now I am “dying” to see more and I hate having to wait until February!

  24. kraftypixie December 2, 2011 at 6:20 pm #

The waiting IS the hardest part! Can’t wait for Alcatraz to start! My ‘must watch list’ right now is ‘Fringe’ (though I’m not sure I like the direction it took this season), ‘Walking Dead’, ‘American Horror Story’ & ‘Sons of Anarchy’.

  25. vospik December 4, 2011 at 1:30 am #

Aw, things will be okay, as long as you don’t start posting quotes from TWD on the mirror like you did with AHS…

  26. Becky December 6, 2011 at 12:31 pm #

Story of my LIFE for the past year! I thought about getting it on iTunes, too, but resisted… glad I did!

  27. Jennifer Crowther December 6, 2011 at 6:00 pm #

It was the same for me and Lost. I watched seasons 1-5 all in like a month and then had to wait an eternity to see the rest.

  28. Lindsay December 7, 2011 at 10:55 am #

Same here! Got to it late, then couldn’t stop watching. But on the bright side, Mad Men should be starting up around the same time, right? So, it’s going to be EXTRA good when the time finally comes. The second-hand-smoke of the 60’s and apocalyptic survival all at once… my brain might not be able to handle this!

Also, thank you- REALLY, THANK YOU- for helping people understand the difference between ‘further’ and ‘farther.’ You are to be commended. Yeah!

    Happy Christmas!

    🙂

  31. Suzanne Zaleski December 11, 2011 at 5:20 pm #

Have you read the graphic novels? The TV series deviates a bit so this was a big surprise for me.

  32. Tiffany Noélli December 15, 2011 at 4:31 pm #

Yes, expect the series back in February until it hurts! hahahaha :p I love The Walking Dead

  33. Sheila January 6, 2012 at 8:19 am #
