My most prized costume…

30 Oct

Was probably the gorilla.

I wanted this mask so badly that I agreed to wear this costume for multiple Halloweens if my parents bought it for me.

But the second year of being the gorilla was met with many of my classmates pointing out, “Isn’t that what you were last year?”

So the next year I kept the body suit but created a new mask out of a cardboard box, spray paint and modeling clay.

I could barely see out of those four holes in the head but this outfit did win me a prize. I think it was a ribbon. Remember ribbons? The next step up from gold stars?

How cute! At least you got to go. My parents didn’t jet me go truck or treating . I had to knock on our own door to be able to truck or treat! True story 😦

That is just awesome! Love the gorilla suit but have to admit you did a kick butt job on the mask. Can NOT WAIT to see Once Upon A Time Sunday Night! It is going to be great seeing you on TV again. 🙂

Funny how times have changed, Jorge. The first thing I noticed in the first photo was the unattended suitcase in the background :-/

Looking forward to OUaT on Sunday!

Thanks for sharing, Jorge!! Some Halloweens when I was a child, I had to be a little creative as well. Love your pictures and thank you for sharing them with your fans!!! This Sunday’s OUAT should be fantastic–looking forward to seeing you in the episode, especially since some of us just got our power back here in the coastal part of Rhode Island…

I love these old costume pictures and stories. The homemade one is awesome. Will you take a minute and check out some that I just posted? I think you’ll be interested in some of the effects make-up. Money back if you’re bored. http://sethbang.wordpress.com

I was a giraffe once, but since I lived in Chicago I had to wear a coat over the spotted costume. I still got to wear the mask, so essentially I looked like a Giraffe/Flasher.

Geez… you were creative even as a kid! Good for you for earning a ribbon back then. You deserved it! Great costume!

I won a ribbon at my school’s Halloween carnival too! 5th grade, and I made my own costume also:o) It was a lot of fun making it, and even more fun winning the prize!
