Your post reminded me that I have been meaning to look up what the deal was with the “anyway” vs. “anyways” debate. The first website I stumbled into had this article – http://grammarist.com/usage/anyways/ The last example of the use of the more formal “anyway” is a quote from the Chicago Tribune, “Anyway, I think it’s pretty hard to make a bad Hurley episode.”
Anyways, I thought that was amusing.
