“it’s the shirt that’s like a hug!” do they really work?

  2. veganchai January 23, 2012 at 9:13 pm #

i love i! my greyhound maia has a thundershirt as well, for thunderstorms. i’d love to see them take a thundershirt picture side-by-side. giant lanky scaredy-cat next to teensy baby scaredy-cat. ❤

  3. Danielle Elyse January 23, 2012 at 9:20 pm #

Oh my gosh. I’m in love.

  4. lostsailors January 23, 2012 at 9:30 pm #

Omg the thunder shirt! We see commercials for those all the time. Haha, the first comment- “it’s the shirt that’s like a hug!” I am always threatening to get my cat one, haha.

  5. PJ January 23, 2012 at 9:57 pm #

Dumb question, does it work for fireworks?

  6. Donna Siano January 23, 2012 at 10:13 pm #

Wow! Your little girl is so cute in her little shirt. Looks like she loves her daddy. I’m recording your show so I can watch it in the morning after I get home from work.

  7. Tammie January 23, 2012 at 10:40 pm #

I have never heard of those, but if it helps keep them from freaking out during a storm, I need an extra large for my chubby half Huskie. (Who is also afraid of snow.)

  8. Claudia January 24, 2012 at 2:32 am #

That is hysterical and she is so cute.
    What a great picture!
She is a happy little girl……………:)

  9. MM January 24, 2012 at 4:07 am #

Lol very cute, never heard of a thunder shirt before and being a child of the 80s I automatically read the title as ‘Smidge in her Thundercats Shirt’

  10. Carly January 24, 2012 at 4:22 am #

Loved the show tonight; it gets better and better!

Smidge is just waaay too cute! Thank you and Beth for keeping us up on your lives. We LOVE you for it and for being cool people! Smidge is adorable! I need to get my dog a thundershirt. He’s scared of his own shadow 😉 Thanks again for your blogs, Facebook page, your Twitter page, your podcast and for being great peeps, Beth & Jorge! All the Best to Smidge and Pip, too!

  15. Mike January 24, 2012 at 10:26 am #

I too am curious if thunder shirts actually work. I have a chi-pin (uaua min pin mix) and she is jumpy at times… the thundershirt would be nice if it actually works…

  16. Zari January 24, 2012 at 11:00 am #

Our two girls, Zari and Cara, have Thundershirts and they do work! (Doesn’t Pip need a shirt — is she braver than Smidge?)

  17. Jeff January 24, 2012 at 11:35 am #

How do your pups react when they see you on television?

  18. Nikki January 24, 2012 at 1:05 pm #

Since you don’t have a twitter or Facebook I’ll say it here: You were AMAZING in last night’s Alcatraz. So glad too see you on TV every week again.

  19. Nikki January 24, 2012 at 1:06 pm #

Also, read that AMAZING as AH-MAY-ZIN’ b/c that’s how it sounded in my head.

    Hi Jorge and Beth,

Thanks for sharing with us. Your babies are so cute! Animals are the best.

Jorge your scene last night on Alcatraz with the little boy was just precious. This show is going to be just as mysterious as LOST. That’s what makes it so great, it keeps us guessing. See you on T.V. next week.

As I was watching that I was thinking…

*sniffle* Damn you Jorge, you made me cry!

But seriously, that was my favorite episode so far. Each one I’ve liked better than the last (counting the pilot as two episodes).

  21. steph in madison January 24, 2012 at 5:39 pm #

Don’t tell Pip but Smidge is my fave. 🙂

  22. Lurkertype January 24, 2012 at 6:58 pm #

Jorge, also chiming in to say your performance on last night’s ep was amazing.

    Hope the shirt helped Smidge.

  23. Sue January 24, 2012 at 8:56 pm #

My dog is named “Hurley” after your lost character. My friends dog is named “Sawyer”. Lets just say they don’t always get along LOL! They are both BMDs. BTW loving the new show!

  24. Diane January 24, 2012 at 9:38 pm #

She looks so comfy warm in her Thundershirt. I love her wardrobe….

      Lurkertype,

Thank you for the article. It was interesting and it makes the show seem all the more suspensful. We cried again when we saw Dr. Soto’s scene with the little boy.

      Jorge,

No matter who you play, Hurley, Dr. Soto, or any one else you always manage to impress as the one voice of sanity, truth, humility, grace, and down-to-earth beauty among the insanity and chaos around you. You are an amazing actor and you have honed your art and craft to perfection. You can make us laugh or cry. Lucky for us that you chose to become an actor. You have special gifts. We bet you would be a gem to work with.

      • Tiffany January 25, 2012 at 10:08 am #

        Well said, I agree 🙂

  25. Carol January 24, 2012 at 10:20 pm #

Jorge, are you familiar with Sarah Kramer from govegan.net? You two have a lot in common. I learned about thunder shirts when she fostered a dog last year and of course, you both are vegans AND, you both have that super curly hair. (her most recent blog entry is about a curly air product, actually) I swear, you could be related. She lives here in Victoria and runs a vegan store. I’m not advertising for her, I just have this feeling that you two might enjoy meeting each other.

I’m showing this to my dog, Crash. He has a thing being one upped. He also has a thing about preferring the space behind the toilet when it starts to thunder. I’m sure if he sees this he’ll be in a little circle in no time confessing “I’m Crash and I’m a Thunderholic”.

  26. Jeff Bamberger January 25, 2012 at 4:55 am #

    Very cute pic!

I was in a store looking at these as a possibility for my dog Max. But it looks like tw largest size won’t really fit a 130lb Bernese Mountain Dog.

  27. Tiffany January 25, 2012 at 10:06 am #

The show was great this week! You had me crying at the end man 🙂

  28. Jakob January 25, 2012 at 11:15 am #

    Suits optional? 😛

  29. Carri January 25, 2012 at 1:40 pm #

I wish my dog would wear sweaters! But at 75 pounds she’s more likely to just eat it.

Do they make them for people? I need one!

  32. randi January 25, 2012 at 10:16 pm #

My husband and I love your new show!! Mostly because of you!! I mentioned to him that I read your blog during LOST and how much I missed lost. We make jokes whenever we think we see some parallels. I am glad I looked for your blog again and caught up. Thanks for sharing, the funny stuff puts a smile on my face.
    Take good care.

i saw those in my natural pet catalog, I wonder if they really work? My dog is always petrified now in her older age. She does like notebooks or thunder! Anyway I also use rescue remedy that works really well

  34. Mrcelofan January 27, 2012 at 7:38 am #

Que manía de vestir a los perros !!! 😛

  35. Annie January 27, 2012 at 11:14 am #

TOTALLY unrelated to your post about your adorable dog, but is there any chance you’ve EVER seen another of your plush battleships again? I just found it on a google search and I swear to all that is holy I cannot find another. I must have this for my son’s nursery which will host memorabilia from my grandfather’s Naval days. PLEASE email me. Semi-related topic: I loved loved loved Lost, and obviously you. Get back on my primetime TV.

Hi Jorge. Just caught up on the first 3 episodes of Alcatraz and thought the whole thing rocked. Great to see you back where you belong – in primetime. Best of luck with the rest of the season.

Jorge, a ti que te gusta comer, mira cómo promociona la TV de España, Alcatraz: http://yonomeaburro.blogspot.com/2012/01/alcatraz-en-la-sexta-en-febrero-comida.html 🙂

    Jorge,

I never thought I’d see a canine Steve Jobs impersonation. Now all he/she needs is the wire framed glasses.

  39. Brian Volinsky January 30, 2012 at 12:43 pm #

What size is she… I have an eBay store with a bunch of LuLu Pink and SimplyDog clothing. Would love to hook you up and get you some pieces for the little one.

  40. Lynn January 31, 2012 at 8:33 pm #

    She is so precious!

  41. Rusty February 3, 2012 at 8:44 pm #

Your little Smidge sure is a cutie! Our lab hates the sound of thunder and other loud things. I’ve been wondering if those thunder shirts worked. I hope it calms her.

  42. Jenny February 4, 2012 at 2:58 pm #

My Wyatt wears his Thundershirt almost every day now. It’s amazing how well these things work! Your new puppies are adorable as well…
