I am so sorry to hear about this. It just make me crazy to see all of the mindless reality shows that come back season after season, and then a great show like this comes around, only to be cancelled without giving it a fair chance. Hopefully one of the other networks will see the value in Alcatraz and pick it back up. I am sure that you will find something wonderful to do until then!

Just a few days ago, I turned on the news and found out that the airline I work for was bankrupt and letting go of all its employees. It is a pretty harsh way to find out, I can attest… Fingers crossed we’ll both find new employment soon… 🙂

I agree! I’m eating vegan now, in part because Jorge made it more accessible with recipes and info. Actually tried nutritional yeast again (hated it the first time) after his pictures of it on bread. Now I love it 🙂
I can’t believe they tossed Alcatraz and kept The Touch..nothing against KS, but really that is the dumbest show on tv..Jake, Jake, Jake…what do the numbers mean Jake?…and he knows the kid is autistic and runs off at the drop of a dime, so what does he do when the phone rings? He turns his back on the kid and what does he do? runs off of course..please..dumbest show ever…I’m going to miss Alcatraz. To bad that SyFy can’t pick it up.

I had to stop and complain to FOX before I posted a comment. I cannot believe that they chose TOUCH to keep over Alcatraz. (No offense Keifer Sutherland. You can only work with the material you are given.) Alcatraz is so much more entertaining and even with the time travel storyline, it feels less contrived when you are watching it than Touch does! I want Alcatraz back!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I know I am preaching to the choir here Jorge, but I needed to say my piece.)

This totally sucks! I think most of the TV classic shows that people love would never stand a chance in today’s world. No more building an audience and developing characters. If it doesn’t have fierce ratings and can withstand being moved into different time slots, it’s done. We’re continually being force fed these dumb-ass reality shows and inane, overtly sexual sitcoms. I agree with the previous comment about wishing SciFy would pick this up. Grrrr!

Don’t be too bitter and scorned. Leave that for Beth. Why not try your hand at some feature films? I think you’d be a great addition to any cast for dramatic or comedic roles. Maybe they can get you to be in the next Avengers movie. 🙂

Don’t know what Fox was thinking.

But I agree with everyone else: you are too talented and too beloved to be off our screens for long. Personally, I’d make a play for Hawaii 5-0 as a new seemingly innocent beach bum CI who nonetheless knows a lot about the dark doings of the island and who has a secret tragedy in his past.

Jorge I truly only watched Alcatraz (initially) because you were on it. My dog (a dachshund/pekingese mix) is named Hugo after Hurley. But I was quickly drawn in, and I was quite shocked that it was canceled. I’m so sorry. I’ll miss it. It was definitely amongst my new favorite shows.
I’m surprised. I’ll admit a preference to Fringe but you guys seemed to be getting a rhythm. Call in a favor and get Daniel Dae Kim to get you on Hawaii Five 0 – You’re meant to be in Hawaii, anyway, and you know it.
When I first read that it was on the ‘endangered’ list of possible cancellations, I sent an email demanding that they keep it on because it is one of the few shows I look forward to watching. I am so bummed now that nothing will be explained! So how did they all come back from the past?? Did I miss something in the finale? I’ll have to buy the series on DVD.

Jorge, I once had some friends who found out they didn’t have a job via “Entertainment Tonight”. Don’t know if that’s better, worse, or the same.
I’ll miss seeing you every week (until you get another job, of course) but I have to say I won’t miss Patchy at all! I never liked him/it.
